The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) urged motorists to exercise caution in areas affected by Monday’s hailstorm.
Roads that were temporarily closed are now open, at Wonderboom Junction, Pretoria North at Eskia Mphahlele Drive, Nienaber Avenue, Paul Kruger Street and Van Rensburg Street.
Although traffic is flowing freely, motorists are advised to remain vigilant as the rain continues.
The Johannesburg Road Ageny (JRA) said part of a road close to the Jukskei River, collapsed.
The road is situated between Lombardy East and Lombardy West.
Rockey, Hearn, Frederick and lower levels of that road, in Northcliff, are flooded.
This is as a result of a leak reported. The cause of the leak is currently unknown.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) said severe thunderstorms are expected to continue into Tuesday, at Yellow level 4, over Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and the southwestern and south-eastern parts of Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal, eastern and central parts of the Free State and North West, northern Eastern Cape, central parts of Limpopo, and the Mpumalanga Highveld.
Extremely high fire danger also continue over the Khai-Ma and Hantam municipalities as well as the ZF Mgcawu district of the Northern Cape and the Matzikama, Bergrivier and Swartland municipalities of the Western Cape.
