Seventeen schools were invited to an Energy Career Expo, held at George Randal High School in East London, on Friday.
Organisers of the event are Eskom’s Koeberg,and other stakeholders including NERSA, EWSETA, LPGSA-ORYX, IPP-CENNERGI, NYDA, BCMM and Department of basic Education as well as the Department of Electricity and Energy.
Samantha Graham Mare,Deputy Minister of Energy and Electricity, said “the energy sector has become the most sought after industry due to the move towards green energy.”
Stakeholders agreed and took time to share information on how learners can access bursary and career opportunities.
