Thabos dam near Bronkhorspruit, is about to burst, following this week’s heavy downpours.
The City of Tshwane said emergency personnel, the police and disaster risk teams are working around the clock to assess the risk posed by such a full dam.
The City has urged residents to remain calm, yet vigilant, amidst rumours of a looming burst.
Residents are also urged to heed instructions from authorities, such as moving to higher ground, if instructed, as well as stay clear of the dam, to allow emergency teams to work.
