Seven suspects were caught red handed, stealing underground cables, on Thursday.
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality said its Security Officers Response Team, responded swiftly to catch the suspects.
Three others fled the scene.
The suspects were also in possession of a 150 meter communications cable. Both cables are valued at R155 000.
The suspects are detained at KwaDwesi police station and are expected to appear in court soon.
“We urge residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to relevant authorities.”
