Two people were arrested for cable theft and vandalism of critical infrastructure, in the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality (BCMM) over the weekend.
The Municipality sees the arrest as a significant victory.
The two were caught by a coordinated partnership between BCMM Law Enforcement Services, BCMM Security Services and the police (SAPS) Cambridge.
“This arrest marks a major breakthrough after months of focused intelligence-led investigations aimed at dismantling criminal networks that disrupt essential services, endanger public safety, and negatively affect economic activity within the Metro” said the BCMM in a statement.
Authorities confirmed more arrests are imminent as operations and investigations continue to unfold.
