Four lions were spotted roaming freely in the Makhushane, Mabikiri areas.
They were sighted near the Blue Birds Sports Ground.
As a result, authorities in Ba-Phalaborwa Municipality urged residents to avoid walking alone in these areas, especially after dark, and keep a close watch on children and livestock.
“We urge all community members to exercise extreme caution, as these animals are considered dangerous” said the Municipality in an update.
Moreover, some areas of Phalaborwa do not have electricity, due to an emergency maintenance at the Rooiskool mini substation.
Affected Streets are Raintree, Waterbessie, Grey and Kierieklaper.
