The pipeline at Eesterhoek Water Treatment Works was repaired and the blockage cleared.
As a result, water supply was restored to affected areas (Nhlazatshe 1–5, Wards 16, 20, 24 & 25).
Johannesburg
Joburg Water Board said in an update on Sunday afternoon, although most systems are recovering, strained ones are the Commando, Berea, Alexander Park and Diepsloot.
The most affected system, the Commando, has led to lesser levels in Brixton 1 and 2 reservoirs.
High lying areas such as Coronationville, Sophiatown and Claremont, have little to no water, as a result.
Another strained system, is the Diepsloot, which remains low.
Joburg Water said it would throttle the outlet, allowing only 10% out to supply, against poor pressure.
Ladysmith
A failure at the Klipriver pump station in Ladysmith, has led to lesser water in taps.
The Alfred Duma Local Municipality said a mechanical breakdown at the Raw Water plant went bust.
As a result, water shedding is kicking in from Sunday evening, from 19h00 to 05h00 daily, until repairs are completed.
Affected areas are Observation Hill, Golf Course, Limit Hill, Modelkloof, Danskraal industrial area, Saint Chad’s, Steadville area J, Hyde Park, Egerton and UMkhamba Gardens.
