A Tropical Cyclone 22S (Horacio) was located approximately 510 NM southeast of Port Louis, Mauritius, on Tuesday.

The Pacific Disaster Center (PDC Global) issued 11 warnings, against sustained winds of 95 knots with gusts of up to 115 knots, an equivalent of 175 kmh and gusts of over 200km/h.

The cyclone weakened on Tuesday, where it was located, far east of Madagascar.

The cyclone intensified to a Category 5-over the weekend, over central Southwest Indian Ocean, east of Mauritius, making it the strongest tropical cyclone recorded this year.

Experts at Yale University, said the cyclone was not a threat to land,  but it is a reminder that the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, is only three months away.
