The Cape Winelands District Municipality (CWDM) Fire Services confirmed active lines at Rooiberg and Meulplaas, along the R62.
The fire between Orange grove and Droëheuwel, was fully contained, but is burning slowly towards the Protea farm on the Montagu side of the Koo Valley.
There, firefighting efforts are challenged by steep, rugged and inaccessible terrain.
The Municipality also said its teams are closely monitoring the situation and remain on high alert should conditions change.
