About 12 trading units were destroyed by an early morning fire at Springfield China Mall, North of eThekwini.
The City’s Emergency Services Directorate (EMS) said a call was received around 2:10am.
eThekwini Municipality said 25 firefighters, were sent to extinguish the fire, supported by teams from four northern fire stations.
It took them several hours to eventually contain the fire.
No injuries or fatalities were reported as a result.
Fire and Emergency Services, Metro Police, and SAPS are still on site to monitor and determine the cause of the fire.
