The Botha Sigcau Building, which houses historical records, went up in flames, on Tuesday.
The building was used by Departments of Health, Education, Land Affairs (or Rural Development and Land Reform), Public Works and Infrastructure, Traditional Affairs and the Local Deeds Office.
Siphokazi Lusithi, the MEC for the Eastern Cape Department of Public Works, Infrastructure and Human Settlements, is expected to visit the site on Wednesday.
She assured the community that the OR Tambo District Municipality will make alternative arrangements, to deliver services.
