The Senqu Bridge is open to public traffic, since mid last week.
The Lesotho Highlands Project (LHWP) announced the news of a complete construction.
The bridge is important to South Africa because it is part of the Phase II of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP), securing water supply for Gauteng.
Its construction began in 2023.
The Bridge in Lesotho is 825-meter-long, 90-meter-high.
It connects the remote Mokhotlong district to the national road network.
The LHWP also announced the official opening would take place in April, to coincide with the LHWP’s 40th Anniversary.
