The Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW2026) is well underway in Geneva, at the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) headquarters, until Friday.
This is the very first in-person Symposium since 2017, bringing together relevant experts from the GAW Scientific Advisory Groups, Steering Committees from the Science for Services Initiatives, and Expert Teams, covering diverse aspects of atmospheric composition.
Focus groups are expected to meet individually as well as have the opportunity to interact with each other and share experiences from different perspectives.
Tuesday’s agenda will focus on ways to promote GAW activities between National Hydrometeorological Services and universities.
Also under discussion, on Wednesday, are Atmospheric Composition Measurement Quality (ET ACMQ), Scientific Advisory Group on Aerosols, Stratospheric Ozone and Ultraviolet Radiation (SAG O3&UV), as well as Reactive Gases (SAG RG), air pollution and Climate Change -Health Effects.
