The Council for Geoscience (CGS) and the Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC) reinforced a long‑standing bilateral cooperation, by signing a collaborative framework on Thursday. 

The CGS said the agreement between South Africa and Japan, gives credence to  its Diplomacy Programme.

Through such a programme, both institutions committed to advance joint geoscientific research, strengthen institutional capabilities and support informed decision‑making in sustainable mineral and energy resource management in both countries.
