The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) advised motorists to avoid roads around the Cathedral of St Mary the Virgin, ahead of the State of the City Address, on Wednesday.
JRA said at least 13 roads will be closed on Wednesday midday, including Plein and Klein, Lilian Ngoyi and Wanderers, Lilian Ngoyi and Von Brandis, Lilian Ngoyi and Eloff (to allow for Metro buses only), Eloff and De Villiers, Russia and De Villiers, Noord and Wanderers, Jorissen and De Beer, Stiemens and Melle, De Korte and Melle, De Korte and Biccard, as well as Stiemens and Biccard.
Moreover, motorists are advised to also avoid the central Braamfontein area.
