The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) Tactical Unit recovered a hijacked truck and two trailers on Sunday morning.
The truck was carrying Castle Lite beer when it was hijacked in Silverton.
Police recovered the two trailers, abandoned and empty, at Bon Accord in a Plot.
Later, they found a hijacked truck abandoned at the Mabopane Industrial Site.
More investigations revealed the truck’s registration plates had been tampered with; the displayed plate did not match the vehicle’s original registration.
The truck and the two trailers were immediately impounded and taken to the Pretoria West Vehicle Identification Section (VIS) for processing and handling.
Although investigations continue, Yolande Faro, Commissioner of the police in Tshwane, praised the team for their vigilance and swift response in intercepting criminal activity.
