A Cut-Off Low (COL) system is shifting towards the west coast of southern Africa, affecting parts of Namibia and western South Africa from Monday into Tuesday.

The system is moving very slowly, but is expected to bring showers over parts of the western regions of South Africa and southern parts of Namibia, around midweek.

Meteorologists do not foresee widespread severe weather over the country, as a result of the COL.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) said there is a likelihood of isolated showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday over the Northern and Western Cape.

This will progress to the Free State and the western parts of the Eastern Cape, on Wednesday.

These conditions are also expected to move over to Gauteng, the North West and neighbouring areas, by Friday.
