Cape Town airport’s runway is temporarily closed on Tuesday, following an incident involving a Kenya Airways aircraft.
The Airports Company (ACSA) said the aircraft had a tyre failure during landing, in the afternoon, around 15:25.
ACSA also said in a statement that arriving flights are diverted to other airports.
Domestic departures continue to operate, while teams continue working to open the runway for international flights.
“Passengers travelling to or from Cape Town International Airport, are advised to check directly with their airline or the ACSA mobile app for their flight information” said ACSA in a statement.
