Twenty (20) people died after a mega earthquake struck the eastern parts of Indonesia on Saturday.
The five died when their homes caved in, at East Nusa Tenggara.
Indonesia’s Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysical Agency confirmed its magnitude as 7.7.
The Agency issued a Tsunami warning shortly thereafter, before evacuating thousands of residents to higher ground, due to collapsed homes and power outages.
The warning was later lifted, but search and rescue efforts for missing people, continue.
Indonesia has had 340 quakes of magnitudes above 2 and up to 7.7, in the last 24 hours, according to Allquakes.com, who monitor seismic activity.
Although 1 was measured at above 7, about two more had a magnitude of between 6 and 7, another 13 quakes were between 5 and 6, and 104 between 4 and 5, 139 quakes between 3 and 4 and 81 between 2 and 3.
