An earthquake measured at 6,2, struck the Halmahera / Morotai sector of North Maluku, Indonesia.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) confirmed it occurred at around 5:58 PM local time on Monday, but it did not trigger a tsunami warning.

Authorities said it was felt as far as  Morotai, North Halmahera and Manado.

Casualties were not reported as yet.
