Parrot eggs poachers are expected in court on Wednesday.
The eggs were confiscated about two months ago, at two different locations at the OR Tambo Airport.
They were transported in incubators into facilities provided by the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI).
The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) confirmed the species of the birds from initial genetic testing done.
Species are the African Grey, Galah and Conure.
David Maynier, the Minister of the DFFE, said acting against wildlife trafficking is a key priority.
“Environmental crime is organised crime. We are up against complex criminal international networks and I will be engaging with our department to determine how to provide better resources and support to our Green Scorpions, so that we can send a clear message: Wildlife trafficking will not be tolerated in South Africa.”
