A fire broke out at a warehouse on Cypress Drive in Glen Anil, north of Durban, at 06h30am on Friday.
Although there were no injuries or fatalities reported as a result, the fire engulfed a chunk of the facility, leaving only about 25% of the warehouse.
The plastic recycling operations suffered the most.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
Bruce Degier, Divisional Commander at Municipality’s Fire Services Directorate in the North Region, said “the municipality urges residents, companies, and business owners to ensure that robust fire safety measures are implemented at all times to protect lives and property.”
