Storm Rachel strengthened into a hurricane in Mexico, an Intermediate Advisory from the NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL, confirmed on Tuesday.
While offshore, the storm is moving southwest of Mexico.
But another storm Polo, now also a hurricane, is about 270 miles west-southwest of the port of Lázaro Cárdenas, in Mexico.
It has reached wind speed of an estimated 110 kilometres per hour.
Heavy rainfall totals of 4 to 8 inches are forecast over coastal areas of Guerrero, Michoacán, Colima, and Jalisco.
Tropical Storm Polo is also expected in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and Iowa.
