The Akacia Pumpstation, located in Odendaalsrus, is now completed to service an estimated 68 827 households, including Kutlwanong.
Vaal Central Water said the station was completed and handed over on the10 February 2025.
The project is of a partnership between the Department of Water and Sanitation, the Matjhabeng Local Municipality and Vaal Central Water is the Implementing Agent in these projects.
Vaal Central Water Board said this is the 7th successfully completed pumpstation under the Ministerial Intervention implemented by Vaal Central Water.
“The pumpstation has two submersible pumps that transfers the incoming sewer. There are 16 pumpstation that are currently in construction and will be handed over to the Matjhabeng Local Municipality.”
