Water maintenance of infrastructure in Gauteng, by Rand Water, is set to begin on Tuesday, the 05th January 2026.

Authorities, including the Department of Water and Sanitation, Rand Water, Johannesburg Water and the Gauteng Province, said this round of work, would affect the Kagiso township meter, the Azaadville tower and gardens, Leratong hospital and village, Meadowlands North and South, Tshepo Themba, Dube, Central Western Jabavu, Mofolo Central and North, Orlando West, Zondi, Mmesi Park, Lea Glen, Fleurhof, Roodepoort Deep (Discovery Ext 9, Georginia, Hamberg and Creswell Park), Doornkop North (Dobsonville all extensions), Lufhereng, Protea Glen and City, Green Village, Slovoville, Tshepisong,  Sol Plaatjies, Goudrand, and Braamfischer Extension 8.

Nombuso Shabalala, Spokesperson of Johannesburg Water, said on Saturday, maintenance would take up to 54 hours, until Thursday, the 08th of January 2026.

She also said alternative water supply would be availed during the maintenance period.
