A 50 -year old, Pakistani national, was arrested for allegedly impersonating a registered medical practitioner, for more than ten years.
She was arrested at her place of work, the Medical Clinic, on South Road in Midrand, on Wednesday.
The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) Tactical Response Unit investigated and arrested the woman, following information received about her.
The officers proceeded to the medical clinic where they found the female suspect actively consulting with two patients.
Upon questioning, she failed to provide proof of documentation and a valid practice number.
She was arrested for fraud and the contravention of the Health Professions Act.
