Boikie Monareng has completed over 1030 kilometres, in his ambitious bid to raise funds for school uniforms of underprivileged children.
He is also raining funds for township sports development.
He was met by local athletes and went past Gariep Dam, in the Free State, on Thursday evening, leaving him with about 855 kilometres to reach Cape Town.
Monareng has traveled from Musina, on foot, pushing his wheelbarrow since Tuesday, 11 November 2025, at around 08:30am.
He is expected to arrive in Cape Town in January 2026, where he will rest for a week, before making a return trip to Musina by bicycle.
He is expected to arrive back in February 2026.
In total, he is expected to have walked and cycled over 3,600 kilometres, setting a new record.
