The Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary announced the birth of Faye’s first calf, born on Wednesday morning this week.

Faye’s mom was shot and killed by poachers in the Kruger National Park, back in 2016, leaving behind a young, vulnerable calf, Faye.

The centre said in its announcement on Wednesday “here, she found comfort in the companionship of fellow orphans Sibeva and Leo. The trio grew up together, completing their rehabilitation before entering the rewilding and release phase.”

Faye’s calf is the 26th born within the protected area.

“A very special thank you to Chemstrat for their years of support towards Faye. Thank you so much for caring and believing in her.”
