Modimolle‑Mookgophong Local Municipality has an Interim Executive Mayor- Anna Mboweni.
The Council announced it had removed Sechele Aaron Sebola, in accordance with Council Resolution A88/12/2025 and the recommendations of the Municipal Ethics Committee (C (iii) and C (iv)).
The Council also said allegations against Sebolai were tabled and referred to the Ethics Committee on the 01st of December 2025.
Sebolai declined to appear before the Committee.
Then the Ethics Committee moved to complete a report and presented it to Council on the 15 December 2025 at the Modimolle‑Mookgophong Council Chambers.
The Municipality said in a statement, “having considered the findings, Council accepted the Committee’s recommendation that Sebolai be found guilty of all allegations and consequently removed from his executive and mayoral duties.”
