Heavy rains, thunderstorms and damaging winds (at Level 4), are expected over the OR Tambo and Amathole Districts of the Eastern Cape, on New Year’s Eve.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) said similar but lesser conditions, at Yellow Level 2, are expected over Gauteng, the southern parts of Limpopo, Highveld of Mpumalanga, southern parts of the North West, eastern parts of the Free State as well as the north-eastern parts of the Eastern Cape.
Fire conditions are expected to continue over the Northern Cape, south-western parts of the Free State and Beaufort West municipality of the Western Cape.
