The team searching for a 27-year old male in the Mlondolozi River, Ekulindeni, in Mpumalanga, has begun using drone technology to assist efforts in remote areas.
The search, reached day 4, on Monday the 05 January 2025.
It is expected to continue on Tuesday, with plans to intensify towards the southern sections of the river.
The Chief Albert Sisulu Municipality said the search team began from the reported point of the incident and went about 8 kilometers downstream, to the next bridge in the area.
“We continue to urge anyone, particularly those in communities along the Nkomazi river and near the border, with any information to contact the local authorities immediately. No detail is too small” said the Municipality.
