Firefighters are making headway in the White Pine Fire, in Idaho, the United States.
The US Forest Service’s Scott McAvoy, said on Wednesday, the fire has burnt 792 acres, since its start, on the 31st of August 2025.
About 220 firefighters have only suppressed 10% of the fire, which is fuelled by dry conditions, a steep terrain and wind speed.
As a result, the fire is producing large flare-ups, which are creating unsafe conditions on the ground.
Mopping up has begun on the East Fork Meadow Creek, but some main roads are still closed, including Palouse Divide Road, FS377, Forest roads 768, 1443, Giant White Pine Trail, Forest trail 228, trails 377 and 26.
