The Eastern Cape Department of Transport said two people have died, as a result of a “wind induced” crash in the Eastern Cape this week.
4 more people sustained injuries, as a result of the accident, which happened on the N6 road between James Calata (Jamestown) & Komani.
The Department’s Spokesperson, uNathi Bhinqose, said a Renault Sandero with 6 occupants, suspected to be transporting members of the same family, including a 2- year old girl, lost control under strong winds.
2 passengers, a male and a female, died on the scene.
He said the injured, including driver, a female, one male passenger, an adult female and the 2 – year old girl, were taken to Frontier Provincial Hospital and Life Hospital in Komani.
It’s alleged that unfavorable strong wind was the main cause of the crash.
