Eskom said on Monday evening, at least 6 generation units were taken offline, over 12 hours.
Although efforts are underway to return 7 generation units to service, between Monday evening peak and Tuesday evening, Eskom warned Stage 2 loadshedding could kick in.
There is concern of losing an additional 800 Megawatts (MW).
Eskom’s Daphne Mokwena, said “our teams are closely monitoring the situation.”
