Results of water samples taken last week Friday, point to exorbitant amounts of Ammonia and Phosphate, at the Themba Water Treatment Plant.
The City of Tshwane announced the plant’s closure last week Friday, claiming a sewer discharge was detected, flowing into the Apies River. This River flows into Leeukraal Dam.
The plant remains shut, as the City’s scientists are expected to continue to collect more water samples.
Affected areas are Dilopye, Resntown, Hammanskraal West, Suurman, Lepheng, Sekampaneng, Majaneng and Refentse.
