25 desks and chairs will be handed over to Isithebe Day Care Centre, part of Ilembe District Municipality, in KZN, on National Recycling Day, on Saturday, the 20th September 2025.
Vanessa Mashele, eWasa’s Paper and Packaging Key Accounts Manager, said the what makes this contribution special, is that the furniture is made from hard to recycle multi-laminate materials.
She also said Early Childhood Development Centres play a pivotal role in preparing children for formal schooling, and also lay the foundation for lifelong learning.
“Teaching children to see the potential in waste, helps them understand that what may look like trash, can be turned into something valuable. By learning early that waste can create new opportunities and resources, they begin to view recycling as a way of transforming challenges into trasures. “
eWASA (EPR Waste Association of South Africa) and ITB Plastics will do the handover.
