A 55 -year old suspect was arrested for being in possession of protected species, mainly tortoises.
The suspect was nabbed by a multidisciplinary team during the police’s Shanela 2 festive season campaign, in the Bojanala Platinum Sub-District 2.
The campaign seeks to intensify the fight against crime.
Police said they acted on information about someone who was harbouring tortoises.
Upon arrival at the suspect’s address, they found tortoises and arrested the suspect.
