Mthatha
Areas with interrupted water supply on Easter Sunday, include parts of Mthatha.
This is due to an outage at the Thornhill Water Treatment Works and the Fortgale pump station.
Aaa result, water levels at related reservoirs dropped, affecting multiple areas, including Northcrest, Southernwood, Southridge, Ultra City, Upper Fortgale, Zimbane and Valley, Zamukulungisa, Ilitha, Bhongweni, Parkhomes, Kwezi, Mbuqe, Mthatha West and Payne’s farm.
The OR Tambo Municipality said teams are working to restore electricity, but did not give a specific time for restoration.
Johannesburg
While most reservoirs are supplying adequately, some are strained, such as the one in Olivedale, the Horizon Tower, Berea and Alexander Park.
Johannesburg Water also said Hursthill 1 and 2 are on bypass and supplying fairly, despite poor pressure, in certain areas.
Theewaterskloof
A burst pipe at Voorstekraal, has affected low-lying areas.
The Municipality said the pipe is on the gravitational line from the mountain.
As a result, residents in the high-lying areas of Voorstekraal, may have interrupted supply.
