Tsitsikamma
Two suspects were for arrested for poaching 1000 units of fresh abalone in the Tsitsikamma Marine Protected Area, in the Eastern Cape.
They were caught red handed by rangers on Monday at the Bloukrans River, near the Clinton area.
The South African National Parks (SANParks) said concealed bags filled with abalone were found underneath trees.
Eleven others fled the scene.
During a drone flight, rangers also discovered additional bags of abalone and diving equipment.
Robben Island
Nine suspects were arrested last week at the Robben Island Marine Protected Area.
Kruger National Park
Three former employees of Kruger National Park were convicted by the Skukuza Regional Court on April 10, 2026, for killing a rhino.
About 171 rhinos were killed in South Africa, between January and April this year. Of this amount, 103, were killed in the Kruger National Park.
