Motorists are advised that the corner of Buffalo Street and Fleet Street in kuGompo City remains closed, as Judge Olivier is expected to deliver a sentence for Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema.
The sentencing is delivered at the KuGompo City Magistrates court.
As a result, the Municipality said all adjacent streets in and around the court, remain closed.
The police in East London, said it has adequate personnel deployed to ensure the safety of all court officials, the accused (Mr Malema), legal teams, media, and the public.
The police also said while it cannot disclose specific operational plans or exact deployment numbers, police are visible.
Motorists are urged to use the N2 bypass or R72 outer sections to avoid the city centre.
They may also reroute via the R346 or longer inland corridors.
