Conservationists reminded visitors to beaches, not to return washed out turtle hatchlings, to sea.
A washed out Loggerhead turtle hatchling, at Oyster Bay, was taken to the Oribi Animal Hospital, during the week.
The hospital said loggerhead turtle hatchlings were recently spotted on beaches in the Eastern Cape after recent storms.
“If you come across one, please remember the following:
Do NOT put it back into the ocean,
Do NOT place it in any kind of water,
Gently place it on a soft towel,
Keep it out of the sun and wind,
Bring it to Oribi Vet as soon as possible.”
Oribi Vet works in conjunction with Bayworld to ensure these little turtles receive the care they need and get safely back to where they belong.
