Several roads are closed on account of floods, in the Namakwa District, in the Northern Cape.

The Department of roads and public works in the Northern Cape, announced the closure of roads, due to floods, on Tuesday afternoon. 

Road users are urged to exercise extreme caution as water levels beneath the Oorlogskloof low-water bridge in Nieuwoudtville remain extremely high.

Similarly, the Doringbos Bridge, situated between Nieuwoudtville and the Western Cape provincial border on the R364 road, was temporarily closed due to flooding.

The Department said the Rooipad to Kleinzee Road (DR2964) via Komaggas is  muddy and slippery, and was scheduled for closure, on Tuesday afternoon.

Motorists are advised to make use of the alternative routes.
