Bushy Maape, former North West Premier, is late.

Bushy Maape, former Premier of the North West Province, died on Saturday, at a hospital in Johannesburg.

He died at 68, after a short illness.

Maape was premier from 7 September 2021 to June 2024. 

He was formerly Director of the RDP and Chief Director of strategic planning and development, in the North West government.

His family said he died surrounded by his children and family.

They also said he was “loving, humble, kind-hearted.”
