Residents of south-east Queensland and north-east New South Wales, had months worth of rainfall in just 12 hours.

The Bureau of Meteorology in Australia, said the Gold Coast Seaway, observed their highest daily May rainfall since 2003.

The Bureau measured 191mm at Springbrook National Park, Qld, 178mm at Coombabah, Qld, 158mm at Clearview, Qld, 151mm at Binna Burra, NSW, 150mm at Couchy Creek, NSW, 149mm at Upper Rous River, NSW, 134mm at Pacific Pines, Qld and 119 at Gold Coast Seaway, Qld.
