Four people died in a fire in the Kathrada Park Informal Settlement, in Claremont, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The four males are between the ages of 20 and 50 years old.
Multiple shacks were destroyed by the fire.
Robert Mulaudzi, Spokesperson of the Joburg’s emergency services, said the cause of the fire is still a subject of investigation.
He also urged residents to continue to exercise caution when using heating devices and not to leave them unattended while in use.
