A video of a boy with a broken leg stranded in a wooden shack has gone viral.
This follows torrential rains which started late on Sunday evening and intensified into Monday.
Worst affected areas are Tema, Accra and Kasoa.
The Weather Service (NADMO Ghana) urged residents in low lying areas to move to higher areas and not to attempt to cross rivers.
NADMO, said it is working with 48 Engineers Regiment of the Ghana Armed Forces, to rescue affected people and ensure their safety.
