The Thembisile Hani Local Municipality now has four fully equipped boreholes, thanks to the Rand Water Foundation.

The boreholes are in the communities of Vezubuhle, Rhennosfontein Farms and Gemsbok.

They are expected to supply some 1,687 beneficiaries, including a local school.

The Foundation said in a statement on Thursday, that this intervention was undertaken following a request from the Mpumalanga Provincial Department of Water and Sanitation.

The project cost about R2,094,743 (Two Million Ninety-Four Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty-Three Rand).

Rand Water also said this amount covers the drilling and equipping four (4) boreholes with filtration and purification systems, installation of ten (10) communal water taps, the installation of six (6) 10,000-litre water storage tanks, as well as six (6) steel tank stands.
