Mulilo Energy announced the construction of the Du Plessis Dam Solar PV2 is nearing completion.
About 170,000 solar modules were constructed as part of the project, near De Aar within the Emthanjeni Local Municipality, in South Africa’s Northern Cape province.
The company took to social media expressing gratitude to its partners and teams “we are incredibly proud of what our teams and partners have achieved, and even more excited about what comes next as we move towards commissioning and grid integration ahead of commercial operation.”
Nordex Energy South Africa also announced the Impofu wind farm cluster entered into commercial operations last week.
Some 57,120 meters of wind turbines were erected, towards the wind farm in the Eastern Cape.
Once completed, the wind farm will supply 330 Megawatts (MW) of energy to Secunda in Mpumalanga, where the French industrial group Air Liquide, will use the power in their oxygen-production plant in the world.
