Typhoon Bavi made landfall at Zhejiang, located on the coast of East China, on Saturday.
Heavy rains swept through Leshan, Yaan, Chengdu and Guangyuan.
Mabian County in Leshan recorded over 250mm in just ten hours.
Authorities warned against gale force winds, at a maximum Category 5 signifying super typhoon status.
Gusts were at up to 350 km/h.
As a result, authorities evacuated over 1.7 million people.
