A R1.2 billion Blundell Bridge and road project was unveiled on Wednesday.
The project is meant to improve water supply in areas such as Shallcross, uMlazi, Chatsworth and Folweni.
Cyril Xaba, EThekwini Mayor, unveiled the R71 million Blundell Bridge and Road infrastructure project at Shallcross.
The bridge and road were severely destroyed by the 2022 floods.
The completed project is expected to restore a strategic transport link between Shallcross and Queensburgh communities.
It will also improve connectivity, facilitate the movement of goods, and provide residents with easier access to essential services.
